It may cause some to feel sick to their stomach and it may be difficult to listen to a constant flow of hate mongering diatribes directed toward Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transgenders, Liberals, People of Color, Middle Eastern Heritage, Muslim Faith and Woman. However, the information gathered, is extremely valuable tool, that will be used to help others in their efforts to pressure the radio broadcasting stations that choose to air and corporations that choose to sponsor and support The Savage Nation. To fully understand their association and support of "Hate Radio" is considered unacceptable and reprehensible, by a majority of radio listeners and by all Americans. Radio stations airing and corporations advertisements which appear on "The Savage Nation", are in fact, enabling Michael Savage to spew his relentless messages of hate directed against Gays, Lesbians, Liberals, People of Color, Middle Eastern Heritage, Muslim Faith and Woman. And by doing so, these radio stations and corporations, are in essence, exhibiting that they are in complete agreement and support the despicable, reprehensible and hateful views of Michael Savage. We understand, that Michael Savage, as do all Americans, have the right to free speech. And this right to free speech, allows Michael Savage to voice his personal beliefs, opinions and views on his radio talk show, no matter how insulting, hateful, offensive and denigrating they are to others. And radio stations have the right to choose which programs to air. Just as corporations have the right to choose which programs they wish sponsor with their advertising dollars. However, when a radio station and corporation choose to associate themselves with a program and they completely ignore the insulting, hateful, offensive and denigrating effects the program will have on the lives of others. It's blatantly apparent, their motivating factor for this decision is solely based on ratings and old mighty dollar. This only serves to perpetuate the dominance of "hate radio" over the airwaves. For this, the radio broadcasting stations and corporate commercial sponsors of such programs, as "The Savage Nation", should be ashamed of themselves and held accountable for their actions. Those who have signed this petition, intend to do just that. We will hold each and every radio station and corporate sponsor of Michael Savage's "The Savage Nation", accountable for their promoting and perpetuating the dominance of "hate radio" on the airwaves. We call upon all radio broadcasting stations to implement a "Fairness Doctrine" to ensure that all coverage of controversial issues by a broadcast station be balanced and fair. This could ensure that not only the views of Michael Savage, will be heard. But, those with opposing view points will have the opportunity to be heard, without being cut off. Without implementing a policy that would offer listeners balanced and fair coverage of views on controversial issues. Bob had no sooner began talking about smoking in the bathroom, when he was cut off in mid-sentence. That's when Michael Savage began an unprovoked, despicable, hateful and reprehensible diatribe of gay hatred directed at Bob. Michael Savage Booted of TV, But, Continues Spewing Hate on Radio Airwaves Michael Savage's reprehensible homophobic and attack directed at a gay caller to "The Savage Nation" was sickening and appalling. Tampa Bay Coalition commends MSNBC for immediately doing what was right by firing Savage. TBC couldn't agree more with MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines who said, "His, (Savage) comments were extremely inappropriate and the decision was an easy one." Savage revels in berating and insulting others, and known for his outbursts of vicious and hateful attacks on Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transgenders, Liberals, People of Color, Middle Eastern Heritage, Muslim Faith and Women. Savage said he was reacting to a personal attack the caller made on him and defending himself from this personal attack. That his comments were aimed only at the caller and thought he was off the air when he made them. The callers remarks that were not heard on air, were "Don and Mike' should take over your show so you can go to a dentist appointment, because your teeth are really bad." This comment may be insulting, but surely, no less insulting then when Savage called Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg a radical left-wing buck-toothed hag. Regardless, Savage's response to the caller, "You should only get AIDS and die, you pig. How's that? Why don't you see if you can sue me, you pig. You got nothing better than to put me down, you piece of garbage. You have got nothing to do today, go eat a sausage and choke on it." He asked for another phone caller who "didn't have a nice night in the bathhouse who's angry at me today." These bums "mean nothing to me," he said. Such comments obviously reflect his strong personal distain for gays, people with AIDS and that he is a homophobe. TBC believes, such comments are an example of hateful speech directed at gays. No matter what excuses Savage uses to defend his recent homophobic outburst. The facts speak for themselves, it wasn't the first and it won't be the last time, Savage will viciously lash out at Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transgenders, Liberals, People of Color, Middle Eastern Heritage, Muslim Faith and Women. The question remains, should such intolerable, vicious and reprehensible attacks be allowed to continue unchallenged? Or is it time that Savage, the radio stations that air and companies that sponsor him, be made to be held accountable? TBC, along with other groups and organizations, believe that it is time that they all be held accountable. That Savage, the radio stations and advertisers that choose to support such programs that spew intolerant and hateful speech, contribute to perpetuate the dominance of "Hate Radio". We should and must assure them, that the cost of deciding and choosing to promote, support or sponsor intolerant and hateful speech on the airwaves, will certainly result in a substantial and permanent monetary loss to them. |

Tonys Chamber ~ Savage Nation Invasion [Click Elizabeth Smart's Photo Above for Website] Website is dedicated to exposing Michael Savage's despicable attack on Elizabeth Smart, the 14 year-old girl, who was kidnapped from her bed. After nine months of being brainwashed and sexually abused repeatedly by her kidnappers, was thankfully rescued. But, her abuse continues, as her good name is dragged through the mud with such viciousness, by Michael Savage. Reading transcripts of Savage's remarks directed at Elizabeth, are sickening. Savage, has no regard for the pain and suffering his vicious attacks cause others and must be held accountable for his words. Freedom of speech works both ways, simply changing the channel, will not stop him, so, this is not an option. By speaking out against Savage's brand of hate radio, we will put Radio Stations and Sponsors who choose to support his hate, on notice. Such a choice, will come at a high cost. |
