Jeffery Tod Owens, 40, died June 6 at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley of complications from multiple stab wounds sustained when he was attacked in Riverside. Born in Astoria, Ore., Mr. Owens lived in Moreno Valley four years. Previously he lived in Running Springs and Riverside a total of 12 years. He worked for the Inland AIDS Project for several years. He was also the events coordinator for the American Heart Association from 2000 until last year.
He graduated from North High School in Riverside in 1979.
Mr. Owens served in the U. S. Air Force from 1979 until 1983.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Brown of Riverside; two brothers, Robert of Huntington Beach and Brent of Riverside; three nieces; two nephews; and his domestic partner, Jeffrey Holland of Moreno Valley.
