Tampa Bay Coalition

Political Candidate Endorsement Policy

Tampa Bay Coalition's standard practices and policy for endorsements of candidates seeking elected
local, state and federal government offices. TBC researches and compiles information on candidates
present stated positions and past recorded positions, on issues of importance in the lives of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender citizens. These include such issues of importance as, discrimination, domestic partners benefits, equality of civil and human rights, benefits, protections and support proposed pro-GLBT laws or ordinances or policies. The information TBC has compiled, as well as information gathered by other organizations, will be made available, by posting it on our website. This is to better assist you in making an informed decision, of which candidates you will support with your vote. It is TBC's standard practice and policy is to remain non-patrician and not to endorse a particular candidate for any elected local, state and federal government office. However, should a candidate exhibit a history of exceptionally strong support for
equality of GLBT rights and record of voting for the passage laws or ordinances or policies to grant these
rights. TBC believes, these candidates are due the same exceptionally strong support from GLBT citizens
and the GLBT community. Only these well deserving candidates, will receive a public endorsement from Tampa Bay Coalition.
