Congress people who support this constitutional amendment are doing so in conjunction with radical right organizations which promote an anti-gay agenda and stereotypical gender roles for women and men. While trying to "play they are the victims" by claiming equal marriage rights is an attack on their religion, it is THEY who are attacking freedom of religion by using an amendment to the Constitution to impose their personal, radical religious beliefs on all Americans.

If passed, this constitutional amendment would serve to permanently deny equal marriage rights to Lesbians and Gays, regardless of federal or state laws.

Since the Supreme Courts Sodomy Ruling, radical religious rights groups have made passage of the Federal Marriage Constitutional Amendment their number one priority. Now, with President Bush and the Vatican joining the anti-gay marriage band wagon, we have a hell of a fight on our hands. And, let their be no doubt, this is not a fight that all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Americans must not and can not afford to lose.

DontAmend Tampa Bay would ask that all fair-minded Americans, regardless of sexual orientation, join in this fight to defeat the anti-equal marriage rights constitutional amendment. We ask that all Americans oppose the use of our U.S. Constitution to impose narrow religious fundamentalism on a country of many different faiths.
