          "Father Mike" 
On September 11th, 2001, Father Mike rushed into the World Trade Center
without a thought for his own safety, only for the Firefighters who he be of comfort
to. Father Mike kneeling asidea fatally injuried Firefighter, was administering the
sacrament of last rites. As he prayed with his fallen brother, falling debris struck him.
In that moment, this horrific act of terrorism claimed it's first brave hero.
 
 
Rescue workers carried Rev. Mychal F. Judge, a chaplain with the
New York City Fire Department who died at World Trade Center.
 
 
 
September 15th., 2001,
New York Fire Department Buries Chaplain Mychal Judge
known as Father Mike to his comrades, he was laid to rest
Saturday in one of the first funerals for victims of Tuesdays
terror attacks. The department paid a terrible price in the
attack more than 200 firefighters were killed attempting to
rescue people trapped in the burning World Trade Center.
