"All My Children" makes daytime drama history this week, when SUSAN LUCCI's TV daughter Bianca (EDEN RIEGEL) locks lips for the first-ever lesbian kiss on a soap (Wednesday, April 23, on ABC).

ET's CHRIS BOOKER was on the set for an exclusive as the ABC soap pushed the boundaries of storytelling.

"It was a long time coming," Eden told Booker. "We've put so much blood, sweat and tears -- and love -- into building the storyline to this point, I wanted it to be real, true and special."

"I didn't realize how hard it was going to be," laughs OLGA SOSNOVSKA, who plays Lena, Bianca's on-screen love interest. "I felt fine with it. Just because I was going to kiss this woman, it wasn't a problem. I think that it has been built up, and it's such a big thing, that when it actually came down to it, we thought, 'Wow, this is a bit important.'"

Most days, the two women get together to rehearse their scenes, but for some reason, the demands of the day -- wardrobe, hair, makeup, etc. -- kept them apart. Olga was concerned because it looked as if she was going to be pouncing on Bianca, so she also wanted to talk to the director about how the scene would be shot. In the end, it was clear as it played out that the interest between their characers was mutual.

"Bianca doesn't get a lot of action, so this is very meaningful for her," Eden adds. "I think for us and our characters it was important."

Neither woman had ever kissed another woman in a romantic way previously, so they didn't know what was going to happen. Olga points out, "I had never kissed anyone smaller than me before, so I wasn't sure what to do."

That said, she did tell her husband he didn't need to come to the set. It was business as usual.

"The reactions I get when I meet guys is interesting," claims the single-and-dating Eden. "Most of them are pretty intrigued by the whole thing. I have a list of people who want to know when this episode is running, so they can be sure to tune in."

Of course, on daytime drama, the course of true love never runs smoothly. So expect the two to encounter a lot of obstacles before their relationship is resolved.
