FLAA'S MIAMI EVENT TO RECOGNIZE REPRESENTATIVE WILSON

Tampa, FL- Florida AIDS Action will recognize Florida Representative Frederica Wilson during an evening event being held Thursday, November 7th, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Whitelaw Hotel, Miami Beach, Florida.

Part of a series of events termed 8&8, this evening soirée is designed to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and funds while commending Representative Frederica Wilson for her efforts on behalf of Florida's 100,000 men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS.

"We are pleased to be able to recognize Representative Wilson for her tireless efforts in the battle against AIDS," explains FLAA Executive Director Dr. Gene Copello. "She continues to advocate for programs, services and appropriate funding to address the needs of our communities in relation to the AIDS epidemic."

Hosted by Evelyn Ullah, Marc Cohen, Evelyn Lovera, Dr. Jose Hernandez, Dr. Lawrence Freedman, Sema Copersmith and Florida AIDS Action, the event takes place Thursday, November 7th at the Whitelaw Hotel, 808 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida. Minimum donation is $50 per person.

Proceeds benefit Florida AIDS Action, Florida's only statewide nonprofit AIDS organization. Funds will enable the agency to continue its work with HIV/AIDS and healthcare issues in general.

COMING TO A GALAXY NEAR YOU - STAR WARS: ATTACK OF THE CLONES

Tampa, FL - Join Florida AIDS Action (FLAA) for an out-of-this-world fundraiser, Thursday, November 21st, from 6 to 9 p.m., at MOSI's IMAX Dome Theatre, Tampa, as the nonprofit agency presents Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.

Enjoy the sites and sounds of Star Wars as only IMAX can present it during this event designed to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and funds. Part of a series of eight events taking place in eight cities throughout the state this Fall, proceeds from this event benefit Florida AIDS Action.

"It's exciting to be able to provide our community with the opportunity to see this movie in IMAX while helping raise awareness about HIV/AIDS," explains FLAA Executive Director Dr. Gene Copello.

This open to the public event take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, November 21st, at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), located at 4801 E. Fowler Avenue, Tampa. Event participants will enjoy a stroll through the Museum, complimentary popcorn and beverage, as well as the IMAX version of the motion picture classic Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.
