The following is our invitation to attend the Candidate
Forum:Dear Tampa Bay LGBT & Progressive
Leadership:
Our goal is to have candidates from throughout the state
speak at the Film Festival / Street Fair and do Q&A on stage. Our
teams, working together, will allow Tampa Bay's LGBT community to have a great
impact on the November 2002 elections, by:
1. Mobilizing the LGBT
& progressive/supportive organization leaders, members and all their
contacts to attend the Street Fair's Candidate Forum.
2.
Spreading the word within your organization, members, entire circle of
influence to attend and participate in the Street Fair's Candidate
Forum.
3. Conducting the follow-up Professional Skills Building
Institute at the 10/19 Unity Leadership Conference to (1) Explain why mobilizing
our community is necessary, important and simple to do, and (2) How to Mobilize
/ Our Action Plan (e.g., Get Out The Vote).
The Street Fair is hoping to
attract a diverse group with the wide variety of films being presented,
entertainment acts and local organizations showcasing information. I
believe this will be a good selling point to the candidates.
Thank
you,
Joel Poulter
